Involvement with Team England and Dorking means there are lots of demands on Des Shipp’s time. Different venues, from commercials to canals and big rowing courses means he needs a mountain of rigs – and needs to be organised. This is why he wouldn’t be without his Space Station…

Obviously you don’t get into the England set-up without being seen as a good angler. It also requires a lot of discipline, dedication and organisation. Organisation can get the better of some anglers and seems like a dirty word. But believe me, you can help yourself to become a better angler by having a great seatbox system.

And that’s what I’ve got with the Space Station. At England level the venues chosen for European and World Championship events can be daunting prospects, often rivers, rowing courses or ship canals that can be deep and very fast flowing.

All of this means that I need to be bang on top of my game, thoroughly organised with a mountain of rigs and pole floats of different sizes, ready to deal with any eventuality. Preparation is the key, allied to a seatbox system which allows you to fish comfortably and properly. And that is where the Space Station comes into its own. It is totally superb.
