I committed myself to fishing from the age 14 and since then having missed only a handful of weekends on the bank and hours of endless preparation, there was only really one place I wanted to try and get and that was to the top of the sport. In the early days my stomping grounds were big bream waters with either fishing ground bait feeders or depths that were top 5s deep on pole. During my late teens and early twenties I was on the midlands canal circuit and also started commercial carp fishing, where my fishing step up a gear achieving some great goals and now at 32 years old, I am representing the country and the number 1 fishing brand whom I’ve been with now since 2004.

10 years with Preston Innovation has been amazing and being involved with many products from starting as an idea then into their infancy stage and to seeing the end product on a shops shelf is awesome. Knowing that what we do helps anglers to catch more fish and makes fishing easier is what I love simple things are always the best. My role within the company now is product development, coming up with new ideas and or improving older ones and media work promoting the brand, products and anglers.

Well favourite methods...... I love all methods really but feeder fishing makes me tick and as long as a method is a winning method that’s what I would be fishing. All my aim is in the next 20 years of my fishing career is to stay dedicated, give the sport a 100% back and mainly to be consistent, if you stay consistent when winning opportunities arise you are then ready to take them. As well as loving the outdoors my main motivation is competing in the sport, yes everyone loves to win but if every time you go fishing you learn something new then it’s a result.

Two of my favourite products from the brand are the PB Inter 2 pole float that I use for a lot of my pole fishing, this pattern can be used in so many situations with it being strong and sturdy I know it can cope with any style and any bait. The Mega Pro V roller is an absolute must, the versatility this roller has over any other is immense. I especially like the roller when it’s completely flat on the ground and the telescopic legs are extended, at this position the roller and your pole are going nowhere! My favourite rod at present is the 10ft 8inch Dutch Master feeder, this rod has the power to cast a reasonable sized feeder, with the sensitivity to detect shy biting species.

My preferred Sonu baits firstly is 50/50 ground bait, you can mix this however you like, its ultra fishy and is great for catching carp and bream on any method on any venue a real winner for me. Another great product from Sonu is the tinned corn that’s available in four flavours, what I like about the corn is that it’s very soft and comes in uniform shapes so it’s great for cattying along with pouring in ground bait and balling in.
